Principal

Ms. Karen Manzi

About Ms. Manzi:

             Karen Manzi has served as an educator and administrator in the School District of Lee County since 1987.  She taught at Sunshine Elementary and Allen Park Elementary School in kindergarten and grades 2-5.  Ms. Manzi stepped into administration as an assistant principal at Franklin Park and then Heights Elementary School.  Ms. Manzi accepted the privilege of becoming the principal of Orange River Elementary School in 2013.

            Ms. Manzi attended St. Leo University, on a basketball scholarship, where she completed a Bachelor’s Degree with a dual major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.  She earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at the University of South Florida.

            Committed to creating a school environment that delivers exceptional instruction, Karen Manzi leads her faculty and staff with the well-being of each child in mind, and the expectation that each child can and will succeed at Orange River.

 

Assistant Principal

Dr. Jennifer Misewicz

About Dr. Misewicz:

                Dr. Jennifer Misewicz moved to Fort Myers at the age of 12.  She attended Alva Middle School and graduated from Riverdale High School. As a product of the Lee County School District, Dr. Misewicz provides a compelling role model for our students.  She attended the University of South Florida and attained a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.  Both her Masters, (2001), and Doctorate in Educational Leadership, (2013), were earned locally at Florida Gulf Coast University, FGCU.

                During her 20 years as a classroom teacher, all in Lee County, Dr. Misewicz taught every elementary grade level from kindergarten through fifth grade.  She then served for 8 years as a Curriculum Specialist at Franklin Park and Villas Elementary Schools.  Promoted to Assistant Principal of Orange River Elementary School in 2013, Dr. Jennifer Misewicz exemplifies the lifelong love of learning Orange River instills in its students.  She and Ms. Manzi work side by side with their dedicated faculty and staff to ensure the school vision of “Success for All”.
