A student may have an illness that does not
prevent his/her attending school, but which requires
medication for relief or cure. If possible, such medication
should be given by the parents at home. The medication may
be taken at school only if failure to take it could
jeopardize the student’s health. Over the counter
medications are not allowed at school.
All medications must be dispensed from the
clinic. For the school to administer medications, the
parent must provide written permission on the form supplied
by the school. Prescription medication must be brought to
school in the original container with a pharmacy label.
Non-prescription medication may be given only if ordered by
a physician in writing. If medication is to be given in
school for longer than two weeks, a statement from the
attending physician must also be provided on the school
form. For student safety parents are encouraged to
personally bring all medications to the clinic. |
